Global Grooves Music Class for Babies in NYC (Newborn - 18 months)

Studies show that children who learn multiple languages during their critical early years develop stronger linguistic, cognitive, and social-emotional skills, setting a foundation for lifelong learning and adaptability.

Yes!  Sagit offers a similar music class for toddlers and preschoolers aged 12 mos – 4 years on Wednesdays at 4:00pm at Kids at Work!  

No! Amplification implies that adults should talk, rather than participate.

Our class sizes are small and our teachers are professionally trained. We NEVER need to use amplification.

We need everyone to be keyed into what’s going on and our teachers are able to hold everyone’s attention; therefore, there’s no need to amplify.

Amplification is also over-stimulating and confusing for children, who may need to adjust to a new space.

Babies often learn peripherally, and do NOT need to be sitting still and watching the teacher in order to be learning and absorbing information.  

As adults, we often engage in music and almost never are actually looking at the performer!  We strongly encourage children to move (crawl around, etc) whenever they want, and also to engage with each other.

All of our classes are about socialization, and Global Grooves is a great opportunity for your baby to move around in a safe space with similarly aged children!

All objects and instruments that the children come into contact are sanitized in the following manner between classes, thanks to our wonderful teaching staff:

1. Wiped down with child-safe soapy water and microfiber cloth
2. Sprayed with department of health approved “food surface safe” sanitizer spray which contains .29% bleach.
3. Left to air dry for a 3 minute virus “kill time”.

All large motor objects and foam mats are also cleaned in the same manner between classes. Our classroom floors and easel area are dust mopped and wet mopped between every single class. Walls and doors are cleaned and sanitized bi-weekly.

Why do we use a solution containing bleach? Our bleach solution, which contains only .29% bleach, is the same solution that restaurants use to sanitize surfaces that food comes into contact with.

Sanitizers marketed towards babies such as babyganics or honest brand do NOT kill viruses such as COVID, RSV, flu etc. We learned a lot about sanitizing during COVID, when we were open throughout fall 2020 and all of 2021-2022. Since our objects come into contact with multiple babies per day, our sanitizer is the safest way to keep your child (and all adults) healthy.

You are more than welcome to grab a wipe and wipe off any excess sanitizer before your baby comes into contact with any of our objects! All objects are dry when they come into contact with students.
