Mandarin Language & Music Class for Ages 6-24 Months
This kids mandarin & music class in NYC is by our partners at Ya Ya Mandarin Seeds, a well-known children’s Mandarin program in Tribeca for more than a decade.
Ya Ya Mandarin Seeds & Music is a 45 minute grownup & me class, designed for babies and toddlers from 6 months to age 2 to participate together with their grownups in class.
The musical curriculum is integrated with original thematic Mandarin songs produced by Mandarin Seeds, covering age-appropriate and fun topics loved by the children. The teacher will sing and teach in Mandarin only, replicating an experience of being in a music class in a Mandarin-speaking country.
Sing and learn together with your child! When the grownup shows enthusiasm in participation, it will deepen the bonding between the grownup and the child and inspire the child that active participation in class is a joy!
Families will receive a digital link to all the songs taught in the semester.
All teachers are native Mandarin speakers who have completed an intensive training and certification program by Mandarin Seeds.
We offer two levels of Mandarin & Music classes at Kids at Work. This baby/toddler class focuses more on basic socialization and immersion in Mandarin. The Mandarin class for kids age 18 months – 3.5 years old commits to developing social skills alongside their peers.

What age is this class for?
Ya Ya Mandarin Seeds Mandarin & Music is a “Grown-up & Me” class for babies and toddlers from birth to age 2, together with their caregivers.
Do you offer mandarin classes for kids who are other ages ?
Yes! In addition to this Mandarin & Music class for babies & toddlers, we offer a class for children ages 18 months to 3.5 years old.
Children who have not been in a lot of social situations may enjoy the younger age group, and age in to the older class.
What happens in class?
Families sing, move, and play together using original Mandarin songs, simple movements, and musical activities designed especially for little ones.
Do parents need to speak Mandarin?
Not at all! No prior Mandarin experience is needed. The class is welcoming to families of all language backgrounds.
My child doesn’t speak yet – is that okay?
Absolutely. This class focuses on early exposure through music, rhythm, and repetition, making it perfect even for the youngest learners.
Who teaches the class?
Classes are led by native Mandarin-speaking teachers who have completed an intensive training and certification program by Ya Ya Mandarin Seeds.
What is the goal of the class?
The goal is joyful first exposure to Mandarin while supporting bonding, musical development, and early language awareness.
