RIE Parent-Toddler/Infant Discussion and Observation Sessions at Kids at Work!
RIE (pronounced “wry”) stands for Resources for Infant Educarers, a non-profit organization founded by Magda Gerber in the 1970‘s. RIE promotes a way of seeing infants and toddlers that enables adults to form close, authentic relationships with them through observation, attentive care and basic trust in their natural abilities.
During the classes, which are facilitated by one or two RIE-trained infant & toddler specialists, small groups of parents come together in a relaxing, calm and infant friendly-environment to take pleasure in the infants’ unfolding development and play. Adults quietly observe their babies exploring and teacher modeling when and how to intervene. Adults then discuss their observations and insights during intellectually stimulating conversations that provide education about their children’ s development and suggestions for making their lives with their babies more enjoyable for both of them.
